Predicting Landowner Benefits involves many estimates – the quality of the well (reserves), the price, the period of time, your acreage in the well unit, and more. The landowner who physically has the well on their property is entitled to some free gas. Further, if a well is drilled to a depth exceeding 4,000 feet, at least 40 acres must be included in the well unit. Only 20 acres are required if drilling less than 4,000 feet.
